About us

We are a large hospitals Trust, with five hospitals and a number of community clinics serving around 700,000 people in east Kent.

We provide some specialist services for a wider population, including renal services in Medway and Maidstone and a cardiac service for all of Kent based at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

We have a strong interest in improving the health of the communities we serve through research and innovation. Our hospitals take part in many clinical research studies and recruit high numbers of patients into research trials. Kent and Medway’s Clinical Trials Unit is based in our Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate.

As a teaching Trust we play a vital role in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, working closely with local universities and Kings College University in London.
